Member Spotlight: Shania Diamond

Shania Diamond started coming to the Cora Dale Clubhouse about 6 months ago. At the time she was an inpatient at Cedars looking for resources that would help improve her mental health. With astonishing timing, the Cora Dale Clubhouse came into Cedars to give a presentation in hopes of reaching/helping the inpatients, even if just one. After the presentation, feeling the encouragement, she decided she wanted to come into the clubhouse.

Shania began coming into the Clubhouse almost every day. She enjoyed being away from the “boredom” at home, so being here allowed her to do various things to distract herself. Shania began to meet new members every day, quickly becoming part of a community where she could be herself without any judgment and rely on when she needed someone to talk to. The Clubhouse also gave her an opportunity to do things she usually wouldn’t do, such as going out for a social event and something as small as running the cash register.

Some fun facts about Shania are her love for epoxy resin crafts. She enjoys the unique molds she's able to do and all the different materials that can be used to decorate the craft.  She also has a white and gray pet rabbit named Butterfly that provides emotional support.
